Kerala was named as one of the "ten paradises of the world" and "50 places of a lifetime" by the National Geographic Traveler magazine. Kerala is a state wedged between the Western Ghats on the eastern side and the Arabian Sea on the West, thus having a wide range of topography from high altitude mountains to golden beaches and is criss crossed by 41 rivers. The tributaries, unique backwaters, lagoons and numerous small islands provide many scenic attractions for visitors.

Take an elephant ride
This is definitely one of the top things to do in Kerala - just so that you do not ever regret that you came to India and did not experience the thrill of an elephant ride first hand! The mahouts (elephant handlers) in Kerala are first class and the experience is fun, safe and totally thrilling.

Wonderful Experience

Dear Oasis Team. I just wanted to say thank you for such a wonderful holiday. Or driver Joy was brilliant, on time, safe driving, and found us the best deals on shopping (in thekkady) that we have found in India! Thekkady and Periyar were our favourite, but the houseboat was a close second. We were unimpressed with the elephant camp at Kothamangalam, which were rather heavily chained up both front and back legs. But we loved the elephant experience in Thekkady. We had a wonderful time and would certainly recommend you to our friends.
